What is it & what is it for?

Formed in 1997, Blanchardstown Hospital Society, a limited Company with Charitable status, is the official fundraising body for Connolly Hospital.

Our aim is to inspire and enable fundraising and financial support, to provide equipment for general improvement and to promote and enhance excellent patient care and welfare of patients at Connolly Hospital.

Why was it formed?

The primary driver for the establishment of The Society was to encourage active involvement of staff, the community and the corporate sector in Connolly Hospital’s service.

Connolly Hospital serves a catchment population of 330,000 people in one of the youngest, fastest growing and most ethnically diverse areas of Ireland.

What's in a name & logo?

Our logo incorporates the tree at the entrance to the Connolly Hospital campus. This tree is approximately 200 years old and symbolises the ‘Tree of Hope’. Over the years, the name of the hospital has changed from James Connolly Memorial Hospital to Connolly Hospital and our charity has changed from the Friends of Connolly Hospital to Blanchardstown Hospital Society, but the ethos remains the same – our patients are always at the heart of everything we do.

Who's Involved?

The Society Board consists of professionals both internal and external who assist Connolly Hospital in directing, organising, and implementing the fundraising efforts of the Society.

The Board of Directors of Blanchardstown Hospital Society generously donate their time and expertise on a voluntary basis to help achieve the aims and objectives of the society.
